In the summer, 2001 my son Jerry and I arranged to meet for a mini-vacation in the wilderness of Northern Arizona/Southern Utah during October, a great time to explore the area.  Jerry lives in New York City.  Little did we know that this would wind up being an "Escape from New York" for Jerry, after the chaos of 9-11.  It was a great trip, and our time spent together exploring the wilderness let us both return to our homes with rejuvenated spirits!  Some highlights are included here.
